"No Water"

So today I had a nice stroll in the mid-afternoon heat, down to the post office, only to find that it had closed. "NO WATER" was scrawled on a sheet of paper and afixed to the door. Wish someone had told me before my 35-min round-trip! :) Perhaps the water will return tomorrow.

why does the post office need water to give you your mail?

maybe they need it to wet the stamps or seal the envelopes?

(but seriously, water shortages are common in the dry season ... the pressure gets too low for water to reach the ends of the pipe network. its so hot here, people need to drink lots of fluids to keep hydrated, and a water outage isnt very conducive to hydration. plus you cant flush toilets, and we all know how gross that gets.)

That made me laugh! I remember when I was in Haiti we could only flush once a day.

post offices suck. i remember that one time when the post office was a jerk to me, so i blew it up, and then i ate the heads of the workers, constantly saying "I told you so". On a prettier note, what's up? you get my post card yet? hopefully i can try and make a skype time sometime next week. ok, talk to you later bro. peace
